Reconnect with your partner. Understand the patterns that keep you stuck. Build a more secure emotional bond.
A first conversation to discuss your situation and explore whether couples therapy can help.

Feeling lonely in your relationship?
Have you forgotten what brought you together, or started wondering whether things can ever change?
When emotional distance becomes the norm, it can feel as though you and your partner are strangers living under the same roof.
Conversations may turn into the same exhausting arguments, leaving both of you feeling misunderstood, frustrated, or alone.
Even when you want to resolve things, you may find yourselves repeating the patterns that are hurting your relationship.
Sometimes, conflict becomes so painful that separation starts to feel like a relief, even though you may fear the emotional and financial consequences.
You don’t have to keep navigating these patterns alone.
Your relationship deserves care too.
You’ve spent years caring for your home, your family, your career, and the responsibilities that come with everyday life.
Somewhere along the way, your relationship may have taken a back seat. The connection that once brought you together can become overshadowed by stress, resentment, and the demands of daily life.
Couples therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what's happening between you, and begin rebuilding the connection that matters to you both.

How couples therapy can help
The goal isn’t to decide who’s right or wrong. It’s to understand the patterns that keep you stuck and develop new ways of relating to each other.
01 / COMMUNICATION
Communicate more effectively
Express your thoughts and emotions more clearly, listen with greater understanding, and recognize what lies beneath difficult conversations.
02 / CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Fight smarter
Recognize escalating arguments, manage emotional distress, and find healthier ways to address disagreements and work toward resolution.
03 / SELF-AWARENESS
Understand your own contribution
Explore how your reactions, protective strategies, and past experiences influence your relationship. Take responsibility for your part without carrying all the blame.
04 / CONNECTION
Rebuild emotional closeness
Strengthen trust, become more responsive to each other’s needs, and create opportunities to feel understood, valued, and connected again.
05 / LIFE TRANSITIONS
Plan ahead for major changes
Work through significant changes, family pressures, and new responsibilities while keeping your relationship and shared goals in view.
My approach to couples therapy
My approach focuses on the unique dynamics between you and your partner. Together, we work toward creating a space where both of you can explore your experiences without getting caught in cycles of blame.
I invite you to look at your relationship as a system: a pattern of interactions in which each person’s reactions can influence the other’s responses. Over time, these interactions can become automatic, leaving both partners feeling trapped in the same painful cycle.
To guide our work, I draw primarily on Emotion Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), integrating techniques from the Gottman Method where appropriate. For high conflict couples, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) adapted to couples is also incorporated to help with the emotion dysregulation that can often occur in the relationship. These approaches offer research-informed ways to understand relationship distress, manage conflict, and strengthen emotional connection.
Understanding the cycle, rather than assigning blame
Recognize the pattern
Explore how one partner’s reaction influences the other’s response, creating a cycle that repeats.
Reduce blame and defensiveness
Identify the negative cycle as the shared problem so you can begin to approach it together rather than treating each other as the enemy.
Build shared responsibility
Explore your own role in the pattern and identify meaningful changes that can create a different experience for both of you.
What to expect from couples therapy
Before we begin working together, I’ll speak with each of you individually to discuss the main issues and whether both of you are invested in the couples therapy process and working on your relationship.
If we decide to move forward, we will schedule a first session and I will send you documents to complete and send back to me at least 48 hours before our meeting.
The first part of our work involves an assessment and feedback phase. This allows me to understand your unique relationship, your individual histories, the difficulties you’re facing, and the goals you hope to achieve together.
